Tom Saylor left a message on July 22, 2004:
To the Frailey family, I am sorry for your loss. My great Aunt Emma Louise Hahn Frailey was the little sister of my maternal grandmother Lucy Wright. I'm thankful that she lived as long as she did, and I was able to talk to her well into my adult life. She was a tangible, historical, living connection with Porter and Lucy Wright, who I loved very much. She was an engaging personality, and she had some character traits that we could all emulate. She saw plenty of tragedy in her life, but I never once saw her bitter or cynical. She was full of life and advice and opinions until the end. She couldn't stand George Bush, and she could tell you why. The last time I saw her at the nursing home in Crown Point she was helping get a disoriented resident straightened out, even though she could barely walk herself. She loved her family, and her extended family. She married a good man, Edwin Frailey. After the great depression his success as a farmer and the Frailey family's generosity assisted my mother's family. And I thank the Frailey family for that. Aunt Emma Louise was a figure from my childhood. A perfectionist ... I remember the birthday cards with the dollars that looked like they'd been hand ironed, and the microscopic sentences perfectly aligned with the XXXX I LOVE YOU XXX KISS KISS KISS XXXX that were works of art, worthly of framing and hanging on the wall. I have saved many of those cards. Tom Saylor
