Emily R. Gilotti

Emily R. Gilotti, age 88, of Beverly Shores, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 1:20 p.m. surrounded by her family. Funeral services are November 13 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann of the Dunes Church, with Rev. John B. Barasinski officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL. Mrs. Gilotti was born October 28, 1921 in Lab, Czechoslovakia to Herman and Anna Macharek, both of whom preceded her in death. Emily met and married Frank Gilotti at Pearl Harbor where she was employed as civilian personnel for the Navy Dept. Frank preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1982. She is survived by her daughter Celeste Gatzka of Michigan City, Gail (Robert) Saum of Beverly Shores, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and sister Ann (Joe) Medek of Downers Grove, IL. Emily was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Chromicky and Pauline Moody. Emily was a member of St. Ann of the Dunes Catholic Church, Dunes Woman’s Club, Parent Teacher Association, and a Girl Scout Leader. She was a fabulous cook, baker and enjoyed all activities with her family, especially Christmas. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
