EMERY J. JIMMONEK age 84 of Gary Indiana passed away Friday March 23 2007. He was born in East Chicago Indiana on December 25 1922. Survived by beloved wife of 53 years Jayne (Namys) four daughters: Eva (Ray) Myers of Knoxville TN RoseAnn (Craig) Schaefer of Granger IN Carrie (John) Korpak of Portage IN Julie (Chip Dixon) Monek of Hebron IN nine grandchildren: Michael Marty and Madeline Myers Jennyfer and Mallory Schaefer Jayne and Natalie Korpak Emery J. (EJ) and Raechel Monek sister-in-law Marie (late William) Burns of Chesterton many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Emery and Roza (Domotor) brother Julius (Mary) Vincent sister Irene Vincent brother Alexander (Ethel) Vincent brother Joseph Monek. Jim was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he was an usher and member of the Parish council and Senior Citizens Group and a former member and usher at St. Mark Catholic Church Gary. He was a retired supervisor at Blaw Knox Foundry East Chicago with many years of service. He began teaching shop at De La Garza Career Center East Chicago and later worked at South Suburban College and Prairie State College as a machine shop coordinator and instructor. Jim was a member of the Society of Manufacturers Engineers (SME) and was honored in the book of Whos Whofor his teaching and was an active participant at the Broadway Methodist Heart Rehab for 16 years. He always had a joke and made people smile whose favorite past time was going to the boats for some sea airand will be missed dearly by family and friends. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville Monday from 2-8 p.m. Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday March 27 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 11:00 a.m. from Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church 1775 W. 41st Ave. Gary with Rev. Dennis Teles officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

Mrs. Monek I am so sorry for your loss. I was so saddened to hear of Emery passing. I work at 5/3 bank at 6760 BroadwayMerr. and Emery was one of my favorite customers. He always had a joke for us and made us laugh. My deepest sympathy goes out to you. Penny Cadle

Dear Jayne and family My deepest sympathy and condolances to all of you in loss of your husband and father. Emery worked with me as a friend and colleague at SSC for a number of years as he positively impacted many of our lives. He was a wonderful teacher example and friend to all of his students and I am sure he was a major force in changing many lives for the better. He always made us laugh with his old jokes his quick smile and his optimistic outlook on life. He made me want to be a better teacher and personally a better grandpa. He will be sorely missed.
