Ella M. Schilling, “Elsie”, age 103, of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Merrillville and Gary, IN, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at St. Anthony Home in Crown Point, IN Elsie was born August 9, 1906 in Saarbucken, Germany. She is a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. She was a former member of St. Mark Church in Glen Park. Elsie was a member of the Kennedy Library Senior Citizens Group for 30 years and also belonged to the Pittman Square Senior Citizens Group. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Schilling in 1989. She is survived by her daughter; Joan Clarence Raab of Crown Point, IN, 5 grandchildren; Ron Susan Raab of Valparaiso, IN, Randy Lynda Raab of St. John, IN, Rochelle Steve Steininger of Hebron, IN, Roxanne Rob Peterson of Brownsburg, IN, and Rhonda Beau Watkins of Lake Village, IN, 9 great-grandchildren; Luke Mallory Raab, Stephanie Raab, Samantha & Jill Raab, Ashley & Jessica Steininger, Kayla & Sydney Peterson and Cade Watkins, many nieces and nephews. At the family's request, a funeral service will be held privately and she will be laid at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN.
