Elizabeth Sepiol-Zatorski

ELIZABETH LIZSEPIOL-ZATORSKI age 87 of Merrillville passed away Thursday June 8 2006. Truly deserving of the phrase shes a real characterLiz had a personality that overflowed to touch everyone around her. With not a shy bone in her body Liz was always the first one on the dance floor generally with some poor shy soul in tow and the last to leave. In fact she met both her husbands at dances and was an involved member of the Towne Square Dancers a senior womens dance troop that performed for its peers. As a young mother Liz along with George her husband of 54 years instilled a love of baseball in her daughter and four sons with her heavy involvement in the East Glen Park Little League which was situated right behind their house. Later in life her affections were stolen away by basketball and a string of triumphs by the Chicago Bulls. She would often call her children during a game to discuss the teams performance. More like a flock of social butterflies than just one Liz was also a natural born campaigner pounding the pavement for friends and loved ones seeking public office regardless of political persuasion. Instrinsically philosophical Liz was close to her numerous relatives and gave particular attention to the young ones making the harrowing journey to maturity. With a patient air she was known to sit in companionable and compassionate silence listening to the tale of some difficulty only to temper the silence with a passionate but loving statement such as Nobody said life was fair Honey!She certainly practiced what she preached setting a fine example for the case that we make our own happiness. Once upon being released from the hospital on New Years Eve she went straight to a party with her new husband Stanley whom she had married at the age of 83. The newlyweds had some dancing to do. Preceded in death by husband George parents Pauline and Liborio Nuzzo brothers: Frank George John Benny 4 sisters: Josephine Nuzzo Stella Szymanski Vera Sedita Jenny Kupka. Liz was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Church a graduate of Lew Wallace High School a former employee at U.S. Steel Tin Mill and a retired employee from the Gary School System. She played Powder Puff Softball during World War II was a member of Twins Club and 3rd Order of St. Francis and a member of Prikncipessi-Maria-di-Piemonte Lodge.
