Tyler Peterson left a message on April 24, 2024:
We laughed during the Obama vs Romney presidential debates. We traded in dvds to watch other dvds at the resale shop. We smoked hookah at Alladin’s Pita and discussed philosophy. We went to Michael Jackson’s birthday celebration ant his former house in Gary after he died. Our train rides to and from Chicago seem like a dream. Beth you are the smartest woman I’ve ever met. You had a kind heart that felt for the poor, sick and disenfranchised. I miss you, and I’m torn up that I wasn’t there for you when yourself needed somebody. Your addictions helped me recognize my own years later. I should have reached out, but I didn’t. I love you Beth. You were a big part of my life that I’ll never forget.

I truly am at a loss of words. Although, I lost touch many years ago, I will always remember the wonderful times I spent as a child with Beth. From sleepovers at her house, to her coming on my family’s boat with me. One particular day of swimming through massive waves on Lake Michigan followed by a sleepover at my house will always stick out in my mind when I remember her. My dad would always call her Lizzie for some reason and she always just let him. My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to her family during this difficult time.

This is truly heartbreaking. While our paths may have diverged over the years, our memories will live on, forever. Her tremendous knowledge of music was always over my head but so admirable. We always took turns with the radio and EVERY time she had a new band or artist to play, but she would always politely listen to the same 10 British rock CDs that I put on. I appreciate the times we had together, the many philosophical discussions and debates, and the growing we did tangentially and together. My heart and thoughts are with her and her family. Beth, may your beautiful soul rest in peace.

My condolences to Beth's family and loved ones. I will always remember Beth as a beautiful young teenager, one of the gang of kids that hung out with my daughter, hanging around a campfire in the back yard, going to school dances, and dreaming of the future. I pray her soul is wrapped in the loving arms of God, resting in Peace. My prayers are with the family that they are comforted in this time of sorrow and grief.
