ELIZABETH BETTYM. (nee YEDINAK) MARMOLEJO age 75 of Schererville formerly of Glen Park & Merrillville passed away Tuesday May 27 2008. Survived by husband Charles of 55 years 4 children: Danette Marmolejo of Vista CA Charles Robert Marmolejo of Lombard IL Lawrence (Linda) Marmolejo of Schererville & Michael (Michelle) Marmolejo of Chesterton 9 loving grandchildren: Katie (Kalif) Price Allison Marmolejo Alex Marmolejo Becky Sias Jacob Marmolejo Amelia Elizabeth Marmolejo Victor Marmolejo Morgan Marmolejo Matthew Marmolejo sister Helene (late Mike) Perrah of Portage IN. Preceded in death by parents Stephen & Julia Yedinak 5 sisters: Veronica Yedinak Julia Gillich Rose Dillman Anna Benjamin & Mary Toth 4 brothers: Stephen James Charles & Joseph Yedinak. Mrs. Marmolejo was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church a member and president of the Rosary Sodality Sewing Circle and was a president for 3 terms of the Msgr. Ryder K of C Wives. Betty was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School Class of 1950 past president of Miller Elementary School P.T.A. & Pierce Jr. High P.T.A. a former employee of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. New York Life Insurance and the Lake County Voters Registration. Betty was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville on Friday from 2-8 P.M. with a Rosary at 3:00 P.M. and a prayer service & Sounds of Knights service at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Saturday May31 2008 at 9:30 A.M. from the Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 A.M. from SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (5885 Harrison St. Merrillville) with Rev. Dennis Teles officiating with cremation to follow. At rest Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of an old school friends Mom. I met Larrys mom once a long time ago. It was a quick introduction Larry and I and Dave Lindgren were going somewhere and as high schoolers are we wanted to get going. She was cool I think I said to Larry that she was nice but as young people do we didnt acknowledge what our parents meant to us. I say this because as we get older we really understand the importance of our parents. While I havent seem Larry for over 30 years I really believe he knows how great his parents really are. As I reflex back I can see the strong inpact his upbringing gave him. He is a solid guy. Back then in high school he was a solid guy. As one who has suffered the passing of his Mom Man I know of nothing worse. But something comes out of all this. Mom gave us sonething that we can use all our lives. We can even pass it along if we are able. Mom gave us compassion-understanding-forgiveness-love-tolerance. She gave us the ablilty to live with another (the wife) without grossing them out!
