ELIZABETH “BETTY” CHORNACK, age 94 of Merrillville, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016.
She is survived by her two sisters: Genevieve Chornack, Barbara Ann (John) Fedorchak; and her numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Andrew & Mary Chornack; sisters: Ann Dorin, Helen Chornack, Marian Cicenas, Marjorie Masters; and brother Michael Chornack.
Betty was a lifelong member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, St. Nicholas Apsotlate, and worked the Friday Fish Frys for many years. She was a grauduate of Froebel High School, worked at City Service Refinery in Research and a retired secretary from Prosna Import/Exports.
Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway, Merrillville) on Wednesdayfrom 2:00-6:00 P.M. with a rosary at 2:30 P.M. and a Parastas at 3:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. DIRECTLY from St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church (557 W. 57th Ave., Merrillville) with Rev. Basil Hutsko officiating. At rest Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
