ELIZABETH ANNE KLEPSCH, age 98 of Munster; formerly of Crown Point and East Chicago, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013. She was born in Vrbovce, a small village in Slovakia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents Katherine & Jan Skodacek, and was the only living survivor of her siblings: John, Paul, Martin, Samuel, and two infant sisters: Annie and Suzanne, who died in infancy. Nana, as she was known to many, enjoyed baking her famous authentic Apple Strudel for her family, arranging flowers and worshipping at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crown Point. She was a devoted mother and a tireless grandmother. She was the matriarch of her family and set a wonderful example of love and devotion, especially to her grandchildren. Nana leaves wonderful memories with her family; daughters Kathryn (James) McMillan and Martha (John) Byrne; son Dr. Frederick (Mary Jo) Klepsch; grandchildren: Lisa McMillan (Paul) Samuels, Jamie McMillan, and Heather McMillan, Dr. Alison Byrne (Scott) Nowinski, Patrick (Kathleen) Byrne, Kyle (Nikki) Klepsch, Kurt (Taylor) Klepsch, Casey Klepsch, and Katelin (Kyle) Nelson; and great grandchildren: Avery and Jack Samuels, Carter and Evie Klepsch, Hudson and Lily Klepsch, Aidan Nowinski, Islee May McMillan; special niece Marina Klepsch; special nephew Ken (Kim) Skodacek; and many other nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (250 S. Indiana Ave., Crown Point). Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. David Kipp officiating. A private burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond. In lieu of flowers, it was Elizabeth’s wish that memorials be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Crown Point. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Hartsfield Village and Hospice of the Calumet Area for their compassionate care.
