ELEANOR V. KNISH age 74 of Merrillville born December 5 1934 in Gary Indiana passed away Saturday June 13 2009 in Houston Texas. Survived by two sons: Paul P. (Karen) Knish of Crawfordsville IN Matthew Stephen Knish of Crown Point daughter-in-law Darlene Knish of Houston TX two grandchildren: Stephanie (Patrick) Scanlin and Matthew Stephen Knish Jr. great granddaughter Donna Alison Scanlin. Preceded in death by husband Paul Knish and mother Elizabeth Nicksich. Mrs. Knish was a member of Descent of the Holy Ghost Romanian Orthodox Church. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit #430. Eleanor was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School Class of 1953 attended Indiana University and was a retired correctional officer with the Lake County Sheriffs Department with 21 years of service. Funeral services will be held Friday June 19 2009 at 10:00 A.M. from Descent of the Holy Ghost Romanian Orthodox Church (6075 Harrison St. Merrillville) with Rev. David Hudson and Rev.
