EDWARD RICHARD LEVENDA age 84 of Merrillville passed away Thursday February 24 2011. He was born October 1 1926 in Gary to Peter and Susan (nee Ligda) Levenda. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Anne (nee Kalinich) Levenda children: Theresa (Doug) Pope of Scottsdale AZ Mark (Patti) Levenda of La Quinta CA Marissa Levenda of Phoenix AZ Lucinda (Matthew) Mosbaugh of Scottsdale AZ Anita (Earl) DeLong Jr. of Byron IL grandchildren: Mark (Amanda) Levenda II Emily Pope (Frank Dietl) Katie DeLong Jennifer Morris Kari DeLong Madison Mosbaugh Harrison Mosbaugh great grandchildren: Jackson Pope and Dallas DeLuna brothers: Victor Levenda of Lake Station Joe (Rita) Levenda of Valparaiso many loving nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brothers John and Leonard one sister Elizabeth Martin. Edward was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church Merrillville and was a Pirohy Pincher there. He attended Purdue University and was a graduate of Froebel High School Class of 1943. He was Chief Estimator Trinity Industries Allied Structural Steel. Edward was a World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 485. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville on Sunday February 27 2011 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Rosary at 3:30 and Prayer Service at 4:00. American Legion service at 5:00. Funeral service will be Monday February 28 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church 557 W. 57th Ave. Merrillville with Rev. Michael Evanick officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to a charity of your choice.
