Edward A. Guzik

EDWARD A. GUZIK age 89 of Portage passed away Thursday May 15 2008. He was born in Sydney Nova Scotia Canada on September 5 1918. On June 8th 1940 he married Charlotte Cisowski who preceded him in death in 1994. Survived by daughter: Jacquelyn (Jack) Richey of Valparaiso two sons: Jerome (Kathleen) Guzik of Crown Point Dennis (Barbara) Guzik of Chesterton three grandsons: Dennis (Jennifer) Guzik Jr. of FL Daniel (Allison) Guzik of OH Dr. Steven (Stephanie) Guzik of Chicago granddaughter Lauren Buckley of Valparaiso two granddaughters-in-law: Jeannie Combs who has been a very special blessing for several years of Portage Carol Guzik of TN seven great grandchildren: Tyler Brandon Morgan Hannah Mallory Chloe and Addison 2 brother-in-laws: Tony Kordys of Dyer and Walter Cisowski Jr. of Portage two sisters-in-law: Charlotte Guzik of Merrillville Lillian Konarski of Merrillville several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by grandson Michael Guzik two sisters: Mary Komendera and Catherine Kordys two brothers: Joseph and Johnny. Edward enjoyed spending time with his family and was always there for them. Edward was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church since the churchs beginning. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic grammar school and Tolleston High School where he enjoyed spending many hours on the tennis courts. He retired from U. S. Steel with 47 years of service as an operator. He was a member of Local Union #2695 where he served as Grievance Chairman and Treasurer. Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday May 19 2008 at 10:30 from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 11:00 a.m. from Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church (2949 Willowcreek Rd.) with Rev.
