DOROTHY TRZASKA (nee Jasinski) age 86, a longtime resident of Merrillville, passed away on Monday,
June 7, 2021
Dorothy was an advertising accountant for the Post-Tribune for 35 years before retiring. She was an avid
bowler and belonged to many leagues during her lifetime. Dorothy loved to visit and play with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was a true and loving mother
who was always there when we needed her.
She is survived by her five children; James (Candace) Trzaska, Alan Trzaska, Deborah (Rob) Hayworth,
Patricia (Lee) Hennings, William (Barb) Trzaska; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her five
siblings; Betty Penner, Bernice (Bob) Schmidt, Florence Delewski, Carol Randazzo, Norman (Helene)
Jasinski; and her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Trzaska
in 1977; her parents Walter and Anna Jasinski; her brother Richard Jasinski and sister Ruth Gergotz.
Family and friends may gather at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway, Merrillville) on
Monday, June 14, 2021 from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M. Funeral services will follow at 6:00 P.M. from Pruzin
Brothers Chapel with Deacon Brian Nosbusch officiating. Cremation will follow and she will be laid to
rest at Calumet Park Cemetery.
