Dorothy O. Fabian, age 83, of Michigan City, died Friday, May 7 at Clare Bridge Cottage, Michigan City The service will be held Monday 1:00 P.M. at the Carlisle Funeral Home, with Pastor Ray Babcock of the Three Oaks Free Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be Monday 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. Dorothy was born August 16, 1926 in Round Lake, IL to John Albert and Esther (Henninger) Ford, both of whom preceded her in death. On May 31, 1947 in Chicago, she married Arthur Fabian, he passed away in January of 1978. Surviving are her Children: Sherry Jones of Michigan City, Larry (Debra) Fabian of Houston, TX, Alan (Willa) Fabian of Atlanta, GA, Carol (David) Grissom of Hobe Sound, FL and Glen (Geri) Fabian of Sugar Land, TX; Son-in-law Senator Ron Jelinek of Three Oaks, MI . Grandchildren Wendy and Adam Jelinek, Jill Ann Glossinger, Brandee Peterson, Trinity Ginther, Nicole and Margo Fabian, Merlin and Ariana Fabian, Steffanie Bass, Jennifer and John Rich, Midnight and Tristan Grissom, David and Natalie Fabian; and 17 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Jelinek in 2009 and brother Bert Ford. Mrs. Fabian had been a bus driver with Michigan City Area Schools for 16 years. Mrs. Fabian enjoyed time on Christie Lake in Lawrence, MI. She also enjoyed traveling to all her grandchildren during the winter months. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Hospice or Three Oaks Free Methodist Church in her memory.
