Dorothea M. Bruner, 92, of Terre Haute; formerly of Lowell and Munster, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Davis Gardens. She was born on May 2, 1920, in Hammond, In to Herman and Barbara (Eberly) Kors. Dorothea loved spending time with her family and cooking big meals for everyone to enjoy. She doted on her grandchildren. Dorothea was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed crocheting and canning. Dorothea is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ader of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Chris Marrs and her husband Jim, Brenda Wilson and her husband Neil, Jory Reed and her husband Michael, Sherrie Basham and her husband John, Kathleen Drake and her husband Bob, Wayne Bruner and his wife Brenda K., eleven great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law Ruth Bruner, and special nieces and nephew, Linda Kors, Pat Mistak, and Tim Kors. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis Bruner, son Robert Bruner, great-grandson Colby Anderson, and three brothers, Harold, Herman, and Kenneth Kors. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 8 at St. Peter and Paul Church (5885 Harrison St., Merrillville, IN) with Rev. Roy Beeching officiating. Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow in German Methodist Cemetery in Cedar Lake, IN.
