While my sister, Marilyn Milnes Champagne, does not have a computer, she called to tell me of Donna's death, gave me this guest book address and asked that I tell Donna's family that she fondly recalls the years she and Donna taught together in Burlington. Donna and I met when we entered Horace Mann Junior High and shared six years of pleasant school days together. My condolences to Donna's family.

Dear Family of Donna: Hadn't seen Donna since BHS school days but we knew each other and had gym class together--she was in class of '52 and myself in '53. Always enjoyed her-- she was very outgoing and likeable. In connection to Donna, we were very fond of her father as he was coach/teacher in our era. We extend our condolences to all the family. Blessings, Don & Lois Close

A message for my dear friend, Donna and her family. Donna, I missed you on the trip we had planned to Alaska this past Sept. It was so sad when you called and said you couldn't go. I went alone and missed you everyday. I will miss sending and receiving emails, I will miss you when we have our Class of '52 reunion in Burlington, IA next year. All of your classmates will miss you - you always came to the reunions and brought so much fun and energy with you. So - good bye to a fun loving long time friend and classmate. You are in my heart. And to Donna's family you are in my prayers. Sandy - thank you for all the emails and phone calls. You wanted to be sure I knew about Donna. I never met you Sandy but I know you so well now. A loving sister. My deepest sympathy to all of you. Pauline Lowther
Patricia Reilly Krepps left a message on January 16, 2009:
To Kevin, Brad, and David, My family was very sad to learn of the passing of your wonderful mother. Donna was a dear friend and neighbor to my mother and to the Reilly/Peters family. My mother, Meredith Reilly, so appreciated your mother and cherished her friendship. Your mother generously opened her home and gave us beds to sleep in when we visited Crown Point. We always had such a good time with her and enjoyed watching tennis with her in the evening. It was always fun to see what treasures she brought home as a result of her many travels and to hear about the soccer games, softball games, and basketball games she was going to or had just been to watch. When my daughters, Jen and Liz, traveled to England they would bring back her special ??Boots the Chemist? face cream and body lotion and in turn, my daughters are fortunate to have been given quilts made by your mother for their children. We will so miss her energy, her humor, her friendship, and her kindness. We regret that we will not be able to attend the visitation and memorial, but please accept our sincere condolences. Your mom was a great lady. May the good memories you have keep her close for all of you. Glenn, Patricia Reilly, and Colleen Krepps Jennifer, Doug, and Olivia Walczak Christina and Rob Dull, Jack, Riley, and Julia. Liz and Dan Robinson
