Donna Louise Bissey Keller Heuer, age 87, long time resident of Crown Point since 1958, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 3, 2020 in Crown Point, IN. She was born July 16, 1932 in Washington, IN to the late William A. and Edith (O’Brian) Bissey.
Donna was an active member of Bethel Church. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Indiana University in Bloomington and her Master’s in Education from I.U. South Bend. Donna retired as a teacher-director of Crown Point Adult Learning Center; previously teaching elementary education in Monterey, CA, Kodiak, AK, and Valparaiso, IN. She was a member of Tri Delta, Tri Kappa, and Delta Kappa Gamma, and was Crown Point “Women of the Year” 1988. Donna enjoyed gardening and loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her sister, Ann Koontz; brother, William E. Bissey, three grandchildren: Amber (Rich) Keller Westphal, Heather (Chris) Keller Mort, and Tiffany Keller; four step-children: Jeannette (Ken) Cordell, Marianne Peddy, Cary (Bernice) Heuer and Karl (Kathleen) Heuer; step-grandchildren: Sean & Brenna Cordell, Lindsay (Eddie) Blockland, Haley Peddy, Logan Heuer, Karlie Jean and Mazie Heuer; great-grandchildren: Emily Faith Keller, Lukas Westphal, Kennedy Mort, Lincoln Mort, Kaylee Keller and Tyler Arwood; step-great grandchildren: Isabella Blockland, Jamison Blockland, Johnathan Blockland; nieces: Christine (Dave) Donk and Deborah (James) Fenalson; nephews: Michael (Julie) Bissey and Charles (Kathy) Bissey. She is also survived by the beloved siblings of her first spouse: Susan (Jurgen) Matthes, Paula Keller and Vivian “Kit” (Paul) Rushing.
Donna was preceded in death by beloved husband, James Russel Keller; beloved son, James William Keller; beloved daughter, Kathy Keller; beloved parents: Edith and Andy Bissey; and beloved second husband, Joseph Heuer.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2020 directly at Bethel Church, 10202 Broadway, Crown Point, IN 46307 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. Inurnment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visitation at the Funeral Home will be limited, social distancing at 6 feet and face masks will be required.
