Deborah L. “Debbie” Wagoner-Guse, age 60, of Michigan City, died Friday, September 4 at her residence in Michigan City.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 4:00 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home. The family will receive relatives and friends From 3:00 P.M. until time of service on Wednesday
She was born June 22, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Kenneth I. and Patricia A. (Smith) Wagoner, both of whom preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons Ben Guse of Michigan City, and Charlie Guse of South Bend, former husband William E. Guse of Michigan City, sister Janet (Darrel) Schramski of Mishawaka, brother William (Shelly) Wagoner of South Bend, sister Barbara Wilson of South Bend, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wagoner-Guse graduated from Riley High School, South Bend, Class of “67”. She later graduated from IUSB with her Bachelors in education where she later received her Masters in elementary education. Debbie began her teaching career at Jefferson Elementary School, Michigan City, 1971-1977, she later taught at Central Elementary School from 1977 to 1991, and spent the last 16 years at Joy Elementary School, where she taught first grade.
Her passion in life was her family and teaching for 38 years. Memorial contributions may be made to Franciscan Hospice in her memory.
