Survivors include his daughters Angie (Bill) Woods, Burns Harbor, IN, Erica (Tom) Lewalski, Amanda (Doug Lewalski) Kienitz, all of Michigan City, grandchildren Justin Morlan, Katelyn Woods, Emily Morlan, Collin and Ally Kienitz, Christopher Woods, Dougie and Devon Lewalski, ex-wife Sue Walters, special friend Tammy Camp and best buddy Terry Blance, and brothers and sisters Dennis (Lisa) Walters, New Buffalo, Rick (Charlene) Walters of Michigan City, Ronnie (Paula) Walters, South Bend, Donnie Walters of Michigan City, and Barb Smith of Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Weaver. Randy was the assistant superintendent with the Michigan City Refuse Dept. He was a great musician who’s biggest love was his family, music and laughter. He loved everyone and showed that in his music. Randy’s humor was contagious, you could not be around him and not laugh. His huge personality was amazing. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Randy & my husband Larry were cousins. We used to live kitty corner from Randy & his family on Maple St. He once came and rescued me from a racoon that was taking up residence in our garbage can. I never made it to the Jam Randy and Tammy went to but I sure wanted to bad ..Randy has always amazed me with his awesome music and singing ..I am blessed to have known him on Pal ..He is also one of the most senstive persons I know , for example if he was telling a joke in a room and he thought he might have offended someone due to a handicap or such he would be quick to tell a person he didnt mean it towards them , etc .His humor was also out of this world.. Minor league championship. He was a great hitter and the first left-handed shortstop I had ever seen. We were also in the same homeroom at Krueger. Although not close to him as we got older. I didn't know Randy very well but had the pleasure of playing bass for him at the Indiana jam session...I have jammed with a lot of musicians but none have matched the talent, humility and genuine love Randy had for music and friends. It was so easy to play behind Randy because of his practiced calling out the chord changes coming up due to the fact that he played a right stringed guitar left handed and no one could follow him by watching because to us it was upside down and backwards....it was amazing how hardly anyone listening could tell what he was doing because it just blended into the song. He will be missed by many but his music will live on in our ears and hearts for ever.

I never made it to the Jam Randy and Tammy went to but I sure wanted to bad ..Randy has always amazed me with his awesome music and singing ..I am blessed to have known him on Pal ..He is also one of the most senstive persons I know , for example if he was telling a joke in a room and he thought he might have offended someone due to a handicap or such he would be quick to tell a person he didnt mean it towards them , etc .His humor was also out of this world.. Once again I feel blessed to have known him a few years on Pal and I pray for all his family in this time of their loss..Just remember Jesus needed another angel so took him home and maybe a musican smiles .Think of all the greats he gets to jam with up there..God Bless you all ...star

Just wanted Randy's family to know I am thinking about and praying for you in this difficult time. When we were 10 years old Randy and I played on 212 Bargain Center baseball team, and won the I.C. Minor league championship. He was a great hitter and the first left-handed shortstop I had ever seen. We were also in the same homeroom at Krueger. Although not close to him as we got older. I knew him as a really nice guy. I wish his family well.

I didn't know Randy very well but had the pleasure of playing bass for him at the Indiana jam session...I have jammed with a lot of musicians but none have matched the talent, humility and genuine love Randy had for music and friends. It was so easy to play behind Randy because of his practiced calling out the chord changes coming up due to the fact that he played a right stringed guitar left handed and no one could follow him by watching because to us it was upside down and backwards....it was amazing how hardly anyone listening could tell what he was doing because it just blended into the song. He will be missed by many but his music will live on in our ears and hearts for ever.
