Dear Randy, Im sitting here thinking about you and what Id say as a last tribute to you. There are so many things that made you who you were that it is hard to put into words just how special you were. You were the best man I ever met. You had a firm grasp on what was right and fair in life and lived every day to the high standards you expected of yourself and others. You were a good father, a good provider; two things that were very important to you. You were a strong leader and always called yourself a Field General on the job. You were one of the finest musicians Ive ever critiqued as you put it. All these things were you and you did them well as you did everything you touched in life well. I loved you with all of my heart. You were my rock when I needed strength. You were my beacon home when I was lost. You were my best friend always. Ill never stop missing you; Ill never stop loving you. RIP David the Beloved

Randy & my husband Larry were cousins. We used to live kitty corner from Randy & his family on Maple St. He once came and rescued me from a racoon that was taking up residence in our garbage can. My husband was working and I stood there screaming. Randy came over and got rid of the visitor. We always enjoyed hearing Randy play. My daughter Tammy used to go to where Randy was playing to listen to his music. I didn't know him well - but what I did know was that he was a great guy who loved his family and his music. You have my deepest sympathy.
Tim Downs left a message on March 3, 2010:
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this tragedy. Randy was always an amazing man of many talents. His musical skills were incredible and his heart was as large as the state of Texas! Anyone who ever had an opportunity to know this gentle giant would agree he was humble, loving and genuine in every aspect. If you never knew him, you can see and feel him through his awesome three daughters! You will be missed!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I will always remember Randy with a smile not only on my face but in my heart. In a world full of pretentious and meaningless personalities, Randy stood head and shoulders above them all. Randy had a way of bringing meaning into your world be it by a smile, a laugh, a joke, or a song. You could not be around Randy without him leaving a small knock on your heart. I feel blessed to have had the pleasure of meeting him.

I never made it to the Jam Randy and Tammy went to but I sure wanted to bad ..Randy has always amazed me with his awesome music and singing ..I am blessed to have known him on Pal ..He is also one of the most senstive persons I know , for example if he was telling a joke in a room and he thought he might have offended someone due to a handicap or such he would be quick to tell a person he didnt mean it towards them , etc .His humor was also out of this world.. Once again I feel blessed to have known him a few years on Pal and I pray for all his family in this time of their loss..Just remember Jesus needed another angel so took him home and maybe a musican smiles .Think of all the greats he gets to jam with up there..God Bless you all ...star

Just wanted Randy's family to know I am thinking about and praying for you in this difficult time. When we were 10 years old Randy and I played on 212 Bargain Center baseball team, and won the I.C. Minor league championship. He was a great hitter and the first left-handed shortstop I had ever seen. We were also in the same homeroom at Krueger. Although not close to him as we got older. I knew him as a really nice guy. I wish his family well.

Grant McIntosh left a message on March 2, 2010:
I didn't know Randy very well but had the pleasure of playing bass for him at the Indiana jam session...I have jammed with a lot of musicians but none have matched the talent, humility and genuine love Randy had for music and friends. It was so easy to play behind Randy because of his practiced calling out the chord changes coming up due to the fact that he played a right stringed guitar left handed and no one could follow him by watching because to us it was upside down and backwards....it was amazing how hardly anyone listening could tell what he was doing because it just blended into the song. He will be missed by many but his music will live on in our ears and hearts for ever.

My Daddy! If ever there was a man who was truly bigger than life, it was him. His heart was so big and true. He loved like no other man I have ever known. He was stronger than anyone I have ever known, and his wisdom for the little things kept me true to myself. I would not be here today or who I am without him. I love you Daddy. ~Lynnagin

Randy was one of the first musicians that I saw play on-line, and I came back to his shows another fifty times at least. His music was great, but his magic was his personality; he had me howling with laughter so many times, and I'll always remember him with a smile. I'm priviliged to have known him, and the world isn't the same without him.
