Missing You
Jim & Robin left a message on May 27, 2009:
We have very fond memories of the times we had with your dad, Joleen. He was one of those special people who have the ability to immediately put others at ease... we felt we had known him forever! He was so full of life & interest in all things. I think you inherited his finest qualities. Had hoped he would visit us in our new state & looked forward to knowing him better. We knew him well enough, though, to know that he adored you & Autumn & that his children & family were his main joy & love in life. He was so proud of you! I thought of him as a Huckleberry Finn-type: daring & adventurous & unafraid & charming that boyish smile & sparkle in his eye could melt ice! & I keep thinking of what Huck said at the very end of the book: I reckon I got to light out for the Territory ahead of the rest... All our love, Robin & Jim

Our sincere sympathy to Dave's family. We have known Dave for many years through Inland Steel events, Ski Club and Miller Beach. Dave was always such a pleasure to be around. We always had a great time with him. My father remembers the great time he had with Dave out in Lake Tahoe when my father was celebrating his 10th Wedding Anniversary and Dave would not let my father pay for anything at dinner. My parents were so touched by that. My everlasting memory of Dave will be his beautiful smile with that infectious laugh. Always in our hearts.

I worked for Dave at the 80 in. hot strip for a couple of years. Enjoyed his sense of humour and friendship. I remember him always talking about his motorcycles and his place in Buffalo, IN on the Tippecanoe River that kept flooding. My heart goes out to the family at this time of loss.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dave, I can scarcely beleive you are gone. My memories of the times I have enjoyed with you will be with me forever. I remember back in the 70's when you and I and Larry Schell would tear up the dunes on our dirt bikes. You had that orange 250 Kawasaki, Larry had the Penton and I had the 350 Honda. Damn we had fun!!! All our ski trips, snowmobile trips, beach parties etc. remind me of your infectious laugh; you were always laughing; you were a great guy to be around. I'll miss you Dave. God Bless

My Dear Father, best darn Dad I could have ever wished for. I learned so much from you and will cherish the memories of your smile and strong arms that carried me through life. Thank goodness you made so many wonderful friendships to carry on the DMO legacy! I'll always remember Oh No, Mr. Bill! on sleds, motorcycles, lawnmowers, and just about anything we could have fun on.......... VENI VIDI VICI

I've known Dave for over 40 years. One of the constants that you always saw in him, whether at the mill, or on a ski trip, or camping out at car races, or on the beach, or driving his Shalako, was that he was always 'up', looking for some adventure, fun to be around, free with humor and the big laugh. His Kids and Family meant everything to him. Their loss is immeasurable and is shared by his many friends, colleagues and me. My Deepest Sympathy goes to his Family. Rest In Peace, Dave.
