David L. Matotte, age 62, of Trail Creek, died Tuesday, December 23 at 10:15 a.m. at his home in Trail Creek. Services will be held Monday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home, with Rev. John Dryer officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, with full military rites. Mr. Matotte was born January 15, 1946 in LaPorte to Lloyd and Lucille (Pflughaupt) Matotte. His father preceded him in death, his mother survives in Trail Creek. Also surviving are son Damon Matotte and daughter Aime Matotte, both of Michigan City, grandson Trystan M. Matotte of Michigan City, brothers James (Shirley) Matotte of Palm Bay, FL, Clark Matotte of Chesterton, IN, nieces and nephews Yvette and Hillary Matotte, Christina Hall, Darren and Jimmy Matotte and Chantel Butler, and his former wife Lorraine Barr of Westville, IN. David had been employed as a millwright with Bethlehem Steel for 15 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Dominican Republic. He was a very caring son who took care of his mother for the past eighteen years. Memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
