David John Cecich, age 66, of Crown Point, IN, unexpectedly yet peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024.
Dave is survived by his wife of 38 years, Liz Cecich (nee Runyan); children: Zachary (Caitlyn) Cecich, Zarah (Kevin) Fogler, Zane Cecich; grandchildren: Gianni Cecich, London, Dakota, and Lincoln Folger; brother, Steve (Kathy) Cecich.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents: John and Diann Cecich.
Dave was a member of the Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. He graduated from Lincoln-Way High School, Class of 1976, and earned his Bachelor’s degree in business management and science from Bemidji State University. He was the owner and CFO for over 30 years of Union Electronics in Beecher, IL. Dave was also the Chairman of the Board of Directors for First Community Bank.
Dave’s pride and joy were his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pop-Pop.” He immensely enjoyed being with all his family and friends on all special occasions, but his best times were at Farm Lake Outpost in Ely, MN, which he co-owned, where he enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Dave loved his muscle cars and fishing lures, believed in strong hugs, and was proud of his vast collection of guns.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 2:00 PM until the time of Funeral Service at 5:00 PM with Pastor Tamera Jacobi officiating.
