David “Dave” G. Lloyd

February 22, 1940 - January 22, 2024

David G. Lloyd, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, just shy of his 84th birthday.

Dave, as he was known, leaves behind his wife of almost 64 years, Fran Lloyd; sons: Allan (Michele) Lloyd of Portage and Ryan (Jane) Lloyd of Valparaiso; daughter, Amy (Jim) Sullivan of Valparaiso; adopted daughter, Keri Kehoe of Valparaiso; grandchildren: Joshua Lloyd, Kurtis (Aimee) Lloyd, Andrew Lloyd, Rebecca Smith, Matthew Ward, Kayla (PJ) Vernon, Kelsey Harrington, Stephen (Becca) Sullivan, Kaity Sullivan, Ryan Gardner, Rylee (Lyric) Hugunin, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Dave served in the U.S. Army for 3 years as a Chaplains Assistant, stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and 3 years in the Army Reserves. He was a journeyman machinist at Blaw-Knox for almost 24 years. Dave was also a Wal-Mart greeter for 17 years. He loved music and was a long-time member of Glen Park Baptist Church, where he played the organ and directed the Teen Choraliers. Dave enjoyed watching baseball games and was an avid Cubs fan.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:30 AM with Pastor Allen Wright officiating.

Dear Ryan, My condolences and prayers are with you and your family. God be with you all.

So sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. We knew Dave and his family in the seventies from both Glen Park Baptist church & Calumet Baptist School. Many fond memories. Dave was a gifted musician; in fact he played the organ at our wedding in 1973. God Bless!

Mrs. Lloyd, Allan, Ryan, Amy and your children my sincere condolence to all. I have many many many memories of Dave, also when he was in Awana, (although I was not). And when I knew (think's to Allan) that Dave was working at Walmart I would make "several" trips to see him and shake his hand and talk with him. Way before this, I would listen to him and his wife on the citizen band radio, Dave would also talk/keep in touch with his mother on the C.B. too! SOOOOOO many memories.................
