Dave Miller left a message on November 20, 2010:
I just receently learn of David's passing. He was a year ahead of me in High School were we played football together. He was not only my hero but a incredable mentor. I told my teammates at Boston College all about Dave before we played Syracuse. He was the toughest most focused player I had been privledged to know. I'm sure he was a great father and husband. My thoughts and prayers are with David's family. I'm sure he and Denny Hullfish are telling some of the old stories right now. Sincerly, Dave Miller

Dear Alison and Christopher, We are so sorry to hear of your dad's passing Alison. I keep thinking of your words, he was one of a kind. Knowing you, I'm sure that he was a wonderful soul. I imagine that he did many things in his lifetime, but the best was giving a wonderful daughter to the world. As you continue with your life, I know that you will make him proud.
