Dave LaShawn Whitehead

Dave LaShawn Poe Dave Whitehead, age 40, of Des Moines, IA passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at the VA Hospital. He is survived by his daughter: Ashley Litt, grandson: Da Karry Litt, father: Dave Whitehead, sisters: Shirley, Poutrise, Lolita, Mia and Veronica, brothers: Anthony and Raphael, aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends. Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Prewit. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Prayer Tower Fellowship Church, 4595 W. 29th Ave., Gary, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Hobart, IN. Dave served 2 years in the Army Reserve and 4 years in the U.S. Navy and was discharged honorably. He enjoyed joking with family and friends.
