DARLENE “MICKIE” MRAK (nee Michael), age 67 of Michigan City; formerly of Portage, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.

She is survived by her two children: Martin Mrak, Jr. and Kelly Salcedo; three grandchildren: Caressa Mrak, Addison & Alex Salcedo; father John (Judy) Michael; her four sisters: Jackie (Jim) Collins, Kim Agro, Jody (Louie) Gimbrone, Rene Michael; brother John (Linda) Michael, Jr.; her many nieces and nephews; and her brother-in-law Michael (Toy) Mrak.  Preceded in death by husband Martin Mrak, Sr.; mother Mary Michael; and sister Barbara Michael.

Mickie was a member of Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church and a dedicated office manager from Matrix N.A.C. with over 35 years of service within the steel industry.  Mickie was a kind-hearted woman whom was a great mother, grandmother, sister, and a very devoted wife.  Although Mickie may have been small in stature, she could be as strong as a mighty oak.

A Memorial Mass for Mickie will be held at Nativity of Our Savior Catholic Church this Spring.
