At 11:47 PM on January 7th 2024, Daniel Wayne Burke (60) passed into the arms of the savior whilst surrounded by his closest family and within the home he built for them. He waited until the moment his dearest companion in life, his spouse Barbara, asked him to rest. With his final act in this world a testament to the love and care he bestowed upon his children, he finally rested in the last minutes of the Lord’s day from his fierce battle with Lung Cancer.
Through Daniel’s hands the will of the lord could be seen in every work he accomplished. A carpenter by trade, Daniel built up every surface he could lay his hands upon. His works, built over time for his loving spouse, and all of his children created a world far beyond that which may have been afforded his income were it not for his talents. However, none would say this was limited to physical works, as the love that Daniel put toward the stability and happiness of all those around him far outstripped even his proudest construction. His greatest Masterpiece was the network of family and friends he bonded together from every corner he could find them, cementing a strength and unity that will outlive him by generations.
Daniel Wayne Burke was a Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, and most of all a Friend to all of those who had the opportunity and good fortune to share in any part of his life. He was the heart of every party and the center of attention, not through intent, but by magnanimous and quick witted personality that drew in everyone he came into contact with. There was no soul touched by his hand that did not come away better for the experience, and even for those with different names for him, there was no better friend than Danny.
Daniel is survived by his devoted spouse; Barbara; His parents Joseph and Geraldine Burke; his 6 children Daniel Burke Jr. (Katherine), Sarah Christensen (Guy), Michael Burke (Miriya), Rebecca Burke, Steven Burke, and Joseph Burke (Toni); as well as 12 Grandchildren; his brothers, Kerry, Jeff, Joe, and Rusty; his sisters, Debbie, Lori, and Linda, and nieces and nephews too numerous to list here. He was preceded in death by his dear brother Mark. He leaves behind a legion of devoted friends and family members, innumerable and proud to have known him. Daniel will be loved and missed, as the bar he set for those who follow in his footsteps is the gold standard for what it means to be a Father, Husband, and Friend.
