Cynthia Louise Weiss, age 65 of Michigan City, IN passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 7, 1957 in Lewiston, ME to Albert and Patricia Weiss. Patricia has passed away, and Albert resides in Michigan City.

Cynthia is also survived by her daughter: Kayla (Jennifer Moisan) Weiss; brother: Jeff (Darcy) Weiss. She is preceded in death by her sister: Shelly Lehker.

She was very proud of her position as the manager of the cafeteria at Barker Middle School for over 20 years. She loved traveling to Florida where she conversed with her Florida group Adventures in Paradise. She was a great cook and she loved sharing all of her recipes with everyone.

Family and friends are invited to meet the family on Thursday, January 4, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, located at 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN 46360, with a Funeral service at 6:00 PM.

Private family burial will take place at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.

My deepest condolences to Kayla, Dr Weiss and Jeff. I was so shocked and heartbroken to learn of Cindy’a passing. She was not only a good friend to my sister Maryellen who has also passed but to myself as well. She was like a big sister to me and I feel like we all grew up together. I will never forget her happiness and her laugh. I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. Much love to you and all her beloved friends. ♥️

Dear Uncle Al, Jeff, Darcy, Kayla & Jen Thank you for including me in the beautiful celebration of Cindy’s life. I’ll hold each of you in my heart during this time of sorrow. May peace be yours in the fullness of time.

We are broken hearted. I met Cindy years ago on Facebook. I knew she had been itt and we had kept in contact until recently. Cindy loved Macy and always sent Macy her favorite unicorn in messenger and even mailed Macy a unicorn night light. Heaven Gained a beautiful angel. To the family our hearts mourn with you ❤️💰

Kayla and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many memories from my childhood with Cindy that bring a smile to my face. A few of them are the beach days at Clear Lake, the kittens, her Christmas cookies, and the big batches of salsa that my mom and her would make together. I know Cindy is up there eternally enjoying ‘the lazy days of summer.’

Kayla, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I pray that as you and your family reflect on your mother's life, you will find peace.

Cindy was an amazing person and I was honored to be able to call her my friend as well as coworker. I first met her when I started in the food service department with MCAS. She was the cafeteria manager at Barker and one of the first people to make me feel welcome and at home. I just had to share the photo of her and her team on School Lunch Hero Day in 2017! :) Cindy definitely knew what she liked and wanted and we fondly referred to her as our "cruise director". I will forever miss the get togethers orchestrated by, and with her. Kayla, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Please let us know if you need anything.
