Cleo Evans, age 87, of Michigan City, IN passed away on April 29, 2020 at Addison Pointe in Chesterton, IN.
She was born on October 17, 1932 in Pineville, KY to Charlie and Janie Bailey, who have preceded her in death.
Cleo is survived her husband: Taylor Whitehead; children: Geneva (Gary) Slayden, Carolyn Brummett, Patsy (Jim) Kitt; grandchildren: Karen, Dewayne, Eva, Elisha, Chuck, Hillary, Erica; great-grandchildren: Ariah, Nathan, Tyler, Brandon and Brooke; sister: Evelyn (Fred) Converse; She was preceded in death by her first husband: Clifford Evans; brothers: Lee Bailey and Chittle Saylor and sisters: Mary Jones and Susie Rice.
She was a member of Meer Road United Baptist Church, she enjoyed her church, especially singing in church, gardening and just being outside. She loved her children, grand and great grandchildren very much. She was the rock in her family and will be deeply missed.
Due to CDC guidelines and the health of our community, private services with immediate family only will be handled by Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN 46360. Cleo will be laid to rest in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
