CHARLOTTE “Jeanne” SEGERT, age 82, a life-long resident of Crown Point, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017.

Survived by three children: Ron Segert, Cindy (Tom) Schoon, and Bob (Lisa) Segert; grandchildren: Bryce (Meg) Segert, Branden (Sara) Segert, Bradley Segert, Ryan (Heather) Schoon, Melissa (Matt) Wargel, Josh and Laney Segert; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Aria; sister, Leah Anderson. Preceded in death by husband, Vern; parents, Elmer and Venita Anderson.

Jeanne was a member of First United Methodist Church of Crown Point. She was a member of Love Circle and taught Sunday School for many years. Jeanne was a member of the Eastern Star, the Order of the Amaranth, a charter member of South Lake Co. Agricultural Historical Society, and Tri Kappa Sorority. She was a graduate of Crown Point High School, Class of 1953 and was a former insurance agent for Fleming, Bates, & Barber Insurance. Jeanne was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and friend who always had a smile and a positive spirit. She will be missed dearly until we are all reunited in Christ Jesus.

Visitation and funeral services will be at First United Methodist Church, 352 S. Main St., Crown Point, on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral service will follow promptly at 11:00 am. with Rev. Mark Wilkins officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.

Jeanne was a valued longtime employee of our insurance agency. She had a calm disposition and clients always appreciated her expertise and timely service. More importantly she was most fond of her family and proud to share a story of one of her children or a grandchild. She was a caring and kind individual and will be missed. May God provide comfort to the Segert family during this time of sorrow. God Bless.
