CAROL L. NOVORITA

CAROL NOVORITA (nee Podgorski), age 72 of Merrillville, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013. She is survived by husband: Robert of 52 years; three sons: Bob (Lorrie) Novorita of Orland Park, IL, Mike Novorita of Merrillville, and Jeff (Kelly) Novorita of St. John; six grandchildren: Lauren Novorita, James and Steven Novorita, Allison Novorita, and twins Natalie and Nicole Novorita; four sisters: Helen (Jay) Lax, Isabel Carlson, Alice (Phil) Kaufman, Dorothy Hobson; brother: Paul Podgorski; brother-in-law: Joe Demeter. Preceded in death by parents: Ignatius and Lil Podgorski; in-laws: Ollie and Florence Novorita; sister: Lillian Demeter. On April 30, 1960 in East Chicago, IN she married Robert Novorita. They would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary next week. Carol was a 1958 graduate of EC Washington High School and member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Merrillville, IN. She was a long time employee of Gary National Bank, Gainer Bank, and NBD. Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and wife who always put the needs of her family first and she will be dearly missed. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday April 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with ½ hour visitation prior to Mass directly from St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 5920 Waite St, with Rev. Michael Maginot officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville.
