My heart is broken for the Mellis family. My parents and I send our condolences. When I moved to Florida, Brett was one of the first people I became close to. He taught me how to slow down (like a true Floridian!) and enjoy the simple things— sunset walks with Murphy around St. Pete Beach, Taco Tuesdays, baseball games at Tropicana. He loved living on the beach. He was made for that lifestyle! I will always think of him when I go to SPB. We had a lot of laughs and I’m grateful we crossed paths. Rest in Peace, Brett.

I’m so incredibly sorry for your families loss. He was one of my best friends I spoke to him almost everyday I’m going to miss him a lot. He was also a great guy very kind to everyone he met. He inspired me to be a better person. I will never forget all the memories we shared he will live forever in them. I hope these words give you some solace in his departure. If anyone in your family needs anything please reach out to me. Kevin Wolfe
