Brent W. Wantland, age 56, of Michigan City, died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at the Arbors of Michigan City. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Carlisle Funeral Home, with a gathering of friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Mr. Wantland was born July 20, 1952 in Michigan City to Earl W. and Mary (McCombs) Wantland, Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. Surviving are stepchildren Lisa, George, Joey and Sarah, 4 grandchildren, brothers and sisters Earl W. (Becky) Wantland, Michigan City, Jimmie Cardwell of LaPorte; Kevin (Eveline) Wantland, Michigan City, Nayoma Zeese, Michigan City, Juanita (Stephen) Middleton, LaPorte; Betty Rootes, Michigan City, Earl W. (Vicky) Wantland, Jr., LaPorte, Greg Wantland, Michigan City and Michael (Paula) Grimes of Knox, IN. Brent was owner/operator of his own tree service and also had been a landscaper.
