What a wonderful lady. She was a friend of my parents and she was my 2nd grade teacher thanks be to GOD. When I graduated Merrillville High School in 1956 she was one of the adults I invited to my graduation party. Over the years I have happened to run into her on my infrequent visits to Crown Point from my home in Florida and she was always gracious, inquiring and an interesting conversationalist. Probably becaue she wanted to talk about ME. What a wonderful person. She made my three years in the little school a wonderful introduction to life long learning. God Bless Her.
Madeline Taffy Schultz-Wilson left a message on July 13, 2006:
To Bonnies's sisters: I am Helen Schultz's daughter. My mom and Bonnie were such good friends, having shared so many post-retirement ventures together. I remember Bonnie as such a postive person--so involved in so many activities, with a great zest for life. I still have some of the ivy from her Merrillville home, growing in my yard today. I send my condolences to all of you.
Bruce L. Woods left a message on July 13, 2006:
First, I knew Bonnie as she and Gil were good friends of my parents, Bartlett and Hazel Woods on the Hill. Second, I remember her as the head teacher at the Primary building when I was in grades 1-3. But, mostly I have fond memories of Bonnie as a member for many years of our Lake County Historical Society. Bonnie and Helen were regular members and great supporters of the society. She is greatly missed by all of us who knew and loved her. Bruce Woods, President-Lake County Historical Society and Museum
