Betty Pozonovich

Betty Pozonovich, age 88 of Crown Point, IN passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009. She is survived by 2 daughters: Annette Kukoy of Gary, IN and Joan Ronald Wachowski; 6 grandchildren: Vince Cindra Venturella, Frank Kimberley Venturella, Elizabeth Josh Lewis, Julianna Kukoy, Joel Wachowski, and Mary Larry Thyen; 5 great-grandchildren: Marissa, Monica and Maggie Venturella, Gina Venturella, and Jacquelyn Thyen; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by husband, Joseph; grandson, Ronald G. Wachowski; 4 brothers: Stephen, George, Bert and twin brother John; 4 sisters: Mary, Margaret, Helen and Adeline. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, November 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM directly at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 5885 Harrison St., Merrillville, IN with Rev. Roy Beeching officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends may visit with the family at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and on Monday DIRECTLY at church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM. A wake service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday. Betty was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, formerly a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a retired employee of U.S. Steel Gary Works with 40 years' service. Betty was founder and President of Gary Works Transportation Department Retirees Group and was also a member of Harvest House Senior Group.
