Betty Kerbs nee Patrick, age 78, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, IN. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Sr. of 57 years, 3 sons, Ron Kerbs Jr. of Lowell, IN, John Betty Kerbs of Crown Point, IN, and Tom Kerbs of Crown Point, IN, 2 grandchildren, Jonathan Angela Bowie Kerbs of Cedar Lake, IN and David Kerbs. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre NOTE: NEW LOCATION-2 blocks east of Broadway at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN, with Fr. Myron Lowisz officiating. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Crown Point, IN. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009 at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a St. Anthony Auxiliary service at 4:00 PM. Mrs. Kerbs was co-owner of Ron and Son's Auto Repair in Crown Point, IN and a volunteer for the Auxiliary and as a Pink Lady at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, IN for 35 years. She was a member of the Crown Point Lions Club for 15 years and loved to crochet and knit. Memorials may be given to Leader Dogs for the Blind, 1039 S. Rochester Rd., Rochester, MI 48307-3115. Dear Kerbs' Family, Please accept my sincerest sympathies on the passing of your wife, mother, grandmother. I knew Betty through St. Anthony's. She often sat outside the gift shop where I work. There she was crocheting or knitting something for the hospital or others. She always had a smile on her face and a friendly greeting for me. I also remember fondly her unique hats which she wore at our banquets. They were usually decorated with money for the 50/50 raffle. I saw her last at our recent luncheon and had an opportunity to say hi and give her a hug. Glad I did that. May God grant you His peace and comfort at this time.
