Betty, or "Granny" as so many of us at Calumet Securities knew her, was a dear loving woman that cared all about her former co-workers, young and old, & also her White Sox & Green Bay Packers. I speak for all when I say we will miss her at our 1st Tuesday at McDonalds meetings.

I am sorry to learn they are now gone.My deepest sympathy to you Jeff, and the rest of your family. I also know that these feelings would be shared by so many in the Mannbridge family if they knew. So from ALL of US, the best to you and your family.

We learned to know Betty through our church. When she found out that we were White Sox fans, it was as if we were family. Betty always had a smile on her face and showed so much concern on how we were doing. We never heard her say a bad thing about anyone. Betty was a beautiful person, inside as well as out and will be missed by so many people. Rest in peace dear Betty.

Our sincere love and condolence to Betty's family. While in Merrillville we spent the best 10 years living next door to the most wonderful people. A blessing to us and hopefully a blessing to them.

Jeff and Tom and families, I was so saddened to hear of your Moms passing. What a wonderful women she was. Always concerned about others. Every note or phone call always held a bit of the past, talking about Mom and Dad. The last time we spoke she told me her wishes when her time came. What a special person she was and I am so happy to have had her and your dad in my life. I can see them all now having a few highballs and playing pinochle around the kitchen table. And the laughing! I don't know how to contact either of you but would like to keep in touch. I'm still at 2567 Peach St., Portage 46368. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you all. Love, Jan
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Betty Gravelle was a wonderful grandmother, although we were not mentioned in the obituary, Betty was a grandmother to both me and my sister Jennifer Simmonds for the last 28 years, as her son Jeff married my mother Suzanne in 1985. Betty never treated us any different than if we were her biological grandchildren- she was always there for birthdays, Christmas, to watch us when our mother had to go to Bradford Woods with her school, and any other time that we needed her. She and Bob danced at Jenny's wedding longer than any other couple because they had been married the longest. I know that Jenny and her husband Scott use Betty and Bob as an inspiration in their marriage. One of the happiest moments I experienced with Betty was to watch my nephew, and her great-grandson Zack get bapitized- her Catholic faith was very important to her and she was delighted that Zack was bapitized into the Catholic Church. She will greatly missed and was loved by all.
