DEAR BETTY,I MISS YOU,WORKING WAS FUN WITH YOU THERE. YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE WHO MY DAD WOULD WANT TO DRAW HIS BLOOD.FORGIVE ME FOR THE TIME I HURRIEDLY INTERRUPTED YOU IN THE LAB WITH A RUBBER GLOVE ON MY RIGHT HAND AND SOME BROWN STUFF ON THE FINGERTIP--WAVING DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO YOUR FACE.I SAID I WAS IN A HURRT AND WANTED A STOOL HEMOCCULT TEST DONE. YOU TOLD ME,AMONG OTHER THINGS ,TO GET THAT FINGER OUT OF HERE ,YOU WOULD GET TO IT IN A FEW MINUTES. I TOLD YOU I COULDN'T WAIT THAT LONG AND SAID I WOULD DO THE TASTE TEST IMMEDIATELY PUT THE FINGER IN MY MOUTH AND SAID IT DIDNT TASTE LIKE BLOOD. IYOU LOOKED LIKE YOU WERE GOING TO FAINT. . . WHEN YOU SAW MY SH-EATING GRIN YOU RECOVERED AND CALLED ME A SOB. . . WHEN WORK GETS ME DOWN,I WILL THINK OF YOU AND SMILE.

I was a patient of the late Dr. Russo, and other doctors on the staff. Betty was always there from my first doctor's visit until I moved from the area, many years later. Such a lovely lady. My sympathy to her beautiful daughter and family.

Betty was a wonderful neighbor!! She taught me about plants, cooking, and sewing. We still have a blanket she made for Kyle when he was born and her spaghetti lasagna is a family favorite. She was a sweet woman and her kindness will not be forgotten.

Dear Meg, I am sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. She was a great lady and we sure had lots of fun spending so much time at Shirley's, the Y, and those trips to the meets. Prayers for you and your family. Love, Rita Ashcraft

Betty was one of the nicest people that I have ever had the pleasure of working with professionally. She was one of the Crown Point Clinic staff who worked very hard to make life better for each patient. She was a proud member of that team and that team is proud to have her on the team. She will be missed by all the patients and the clinic team members. She would have been proud of Meg and her entire family today. Meg demonstated today how much warmth, charm, and kindness she inherited from Betty. Betty paid Meg the highest compliment a mother give, when she said Meg was not only her daughter and the light of her life; but she was her best friend. We will miss you Betty but your memory will live in our hearts because each of us is a better person for having been a part of you life.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Betty's sunny disposition never waned..we laughed together when we were patients of Dr. Russo...she knew all four of my daughters by name...and with Betty doing the lab work, they were not fearful of the back rooms. I was her real estate when she purchased her first home and she was so thrilled with her purchase...her happiness was contagious..I lost contact with her many years ago but seeing her photo made me both sad and happy...nothing but smiley face memories of Betty. My heartfelt sympathy to her daughter, grandchildren, and the Bullock Family.

I am so sorry to hear that Betty has passed away. She will be greatly missed. Betty was a mentor of mine because when I was hired at the C.P. Clinic she took me under her wing and helped me get my career started by teaching me everything she knew. She was so much fun to work with and there was never a dull moment. I always looked forward to Christmas time because we all enjoyed gathering at her home. I'm so glad that she got to move closer to her family and spend her retirement years doing what she loved the most...spending time with her grandkids and family. My thoughts and prayers will always be with her loving family.

I worked with Betty at the Crown Point Clinic from 1980 to 1990. I will always remember her as a wonderful lady who always had a smile for you when you came to the Lab area. I am sorry for your loss and I pray for your peace. It's been 19 years since I have seen her, when I saw the picture in the obit. All good memorys of her came to mind. That Picture was the Betty I remember.

Betty was my mother's sister and the best aunt a person could have. She was an awesome person and will be missed greatly. I am so thankful that she had the opportunity to spend time with her daughter, Meg, and family. Betty enjoyed her grandchildren and entire family. I am glad my children got to know her as well when we met the family in Scottsdale. Love, Nancy, Mike, Moriah and Matthew Messer.

I AM SO SORRY TO HEAR OF BETTY'S PASSING. WHAT A WONDERFUL LADY SHE WAS TO ALL WHO WERE BLESSED TO HAVE KNOWN HER. SHE SHOWED KINDNESS TO EVERYONE, ALWAYS HAD HER GREAT SMILE TO SHARE, LOVED EVERYONE UNCONDITIONALLY. SHE LIKED TO HAVE FUN, AND ENJOYED MAKING SURE EVERYONE ELSE HAD FUN-I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER CHRISTMAS PARTIES FOR WORK. SHE HAD A WAY OF SHOWING EVERYONE SHE CARED ABOUT THEM. SHE CERTAINLY WAS A STRONG WOMAN, IT ESPECIALLY SHOWED THESE PAST FEW YEARS. MEG, I'M SO GLAD SHE MADE THE MOVE TO BE NEAR YOU AND THE GRANDKIDS. I WORKED WITH BETTY FOR MANY YEARS UNTIL SHE RETIRED AT THE C.P. CLINIC, AND THEN SHE'D STILL STOP BY ONCE IN AWHILE TO SEE US, SHOW US PICTURES OF THE GRANDKIDS, HER PRIDE AND JOY. SHE WAS SUCH A SWEET, CARING, LOVING PERSON, AND I WILL SURELY MISS HER. MY HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO ALL HER FAMILY, FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES.

Betty and Elwyn lived in Crown Point, Indiana, across the street from each other. One of the favorite neighborhood games was playing marbles in the Bullock's driveway. When we moved from the area, I remember giving all my glass marbles to Betty. Although it has been 58 years since I have seen her, I remember her well. My best wishes to Jim and the rest of her family at this time. May God bless and keep you all. Elwyn Buche
