Bernice J. Olszowski , age 83, of Crown Point, IN formerly of Gary, IN passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at St. Anthony Nursing Home. She is survived by her niece-Susan Wallace Aten of Crown Point; nephews-Donald Bedore of Phoenix, AZ and Ronald Bedore of Boulder, CO. great-niece-Cassie Joel Kiger of Crown Point and numerous Great & Great-Great Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by her parents-Joseph and Mary Brother-Walter Sisters-Stephanie and Josephine Niece-Mary Butterworth. Funeral prayers will be said on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 9:15 AM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre NOTE: NEW LOCATION-2 blocks east of Broadway at 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St., Crown Point, IN, with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Interment at Calvary Cemetery in Portage, IN. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Ms. Olszowski was a life long legal secretary to Mr. Charles Daugherty. She received her Masters Degree in Education from IU. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar & Rosary Society in Crown Point, IN, a CFP teacher at St. Mary Catholic School, and financial secretary of the Polish Women's Alliance Group #81 and a former member of St. Hedwig's Church in Gary, IN.
