Barbara Ann (George) Malavazos

July 19, 1950 - April 23, 2010

Barbara Ann (George) Malavazos age 59 of Lakes of the Four Seasons passed away Friday April 23 2010. Survived by mother Eleanore Schuffert of Griffith sister Shirley (George) Ionescu of Rockford Illinois brother William (Joyce) Malavazos of Cincinnati Ohio two nephews Leonard and Sean Stringer. Preceded in death by father James Malavazos. A graduate of Horace Mann High School Class of 1968. An electrician at Sheet and Tin Mill U.S. Steel with 42 years of service. A former DJ owner and operator of Nite Life D.J.s. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway Merrillville) on Saturday May 1 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Theodore Mens officiating. Cremation to follow.

George was one of the best friends one could have. Knew him for many years going back all the way to Horace Mann & living in the same neighborhood. DJd with him many times & he taught me a passion about the business. Thoughtful & considerate person. Will be missed.

I worked with George at the Hot Strip for many years and had many good times. George DJd our wedding reception years ago and did a wonderful job. He will be dearly missed and remembered as a good friend. Dale Shurr

So very sorry to hear about his passing. Ive known George since the sixth grade. He was my best man at my wedding and I stood up for his wedding. We had some good times together hes going to be missed. God Bless
