Audrey R. Franz

Audrey R. Franz, age 75, of Merrillville, IN, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, IN. She is survived by 3 children: Renee Franz of Valparaiso, IN, Christine Franz of San Jose, CA, and Eric Julie Franz of Crown Point, IN, 4 grandchildren, Austin, Matthew, Shayna and Christopher, 1 sister-in-law, Jannetta “Dolly” Smith of Demotte, IN and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Maurice “Lefty” Franz. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Geisen Funeral Home, Merrillville with Rev. Mark Wilkins officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Visitation will be held at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM with an American Legion Auxiliary Service at 6:30 PM. Mrs. Franz was a former employee of NIPSCO and was the assistant head cook at Merrillville High School with 28 years of service. Audrey was a 1951 graduate of Tolleston High School and was a member of the Merrillville American Legion Auxiliary Unit #430.
