Arnold “Butch” Luebcke, age 81, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024.
Butch is survived by his children: Dawn (Sam) Hamilton, David (Elizabeth) Luebcke and Jeffrey (Christine) Luebcke; 2 grandchildren: Maddie and Alex Luebcke; sister, Sally (late Howard) Reed; and his nieces, nephews and good friends.
Butch was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Annette Luebcke; parents: Arnold and Sadie Luebcke; and sister, Carole (Phillip) Salyer.
Butch was raised in the Merrillville/Crown Point area and was a graduate of Merrillville High School, Class of 1961. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force. After being honorably discharged, he began his career at Bethlehem Steel Mill and retired after nearly 40 years of service. Butch was a longtime member of American Legion Post #20 and the local VFW. He was always good with his hands in carpentry work and he enjoyed bird watching with Annette.
Butch was laid to rest next to his wife at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
