ANNE M. MATOVINA (nee Zaradich), 91, of Hobart, IN was taken into the arms of The Lord on May 29, 2014 with her family at her side. She was born in Gary, IN on October 5, 1922 and married her loving husband, Thomas, on July 6, 1946. They made a home together in Gary, where they raised their two daughters. Anne has been a dedicated member of the former American Legion Auxiliary Unit 214, the Rosary Sodality, and Saint Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. She loved cooking, watching the Chicago Bulls, enjoying the company of her family, and spending time at the lake house. She has joined in heaven her husband, Thomas Matovina; parents John and Katherine Zaradich; sisters, Mary Yugo and Helen Dillman; brothers, John Zaradich, Jr. and Joseph Zaradich; and grandson, Thomas. She will be dearly missed on earth by her sister, Rose; daughters, Marilyn (Daniel) and Kathy (Walter); grandchildren, Melissa (Nathaniel), Bradley (Sara), Bryan (Sarah), and Lyndsey; great-grandson Nolan; “special angel”, Mary; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway in Merrillville, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Services will follow promptly at 11:00 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Fr. Stephen Loncar officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice of Porter County or Saint Joseph the Worker Church.
