ANDREW JOHN SHRADER age 78 of Valparaiso passed away Monday February 28 2010. He was born April 16 1932 to Homer and Catherine Shrader in Gary. On November 14 1959 he married Sandra Jean Sandusky at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tolleston. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Sandra Jean one daughter Dr. Betsy Shrader one son Bradley Shrader beloved grandson Brandon Scott Shrader three brothers: Donald (Dawn) Shrader Harold (Arlene) Shrader Larry (Judy) Shrader sister Kay (Ray) Langbehn two sisters-in-law: Judy Kay Barbara (John) Bonick many nieces and nephews and his dogs Gracie and Minnie. He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Catherine Shrader sister Wilma Jean Wilhelm brother Genie Shrader father and mother-in-law Stanley and Violet Sandusky and his dog Clara Ann. Andrew was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church formerly Chase Street Baptist Church. He was a supervisor at EJ & E Railroad for 35 years was a former employee of The Anderson Co. a real estate agent with Century 21 Heritage (Sandy & Andy) and an employee of Alvarez Driving School State of Indiana for 20 years. Andrew was an Army veteran of the Korean War a member of F&AM Lodge #716 and an alumnus of Indiana University. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville on Friday March 4 2011 from 2:00 to 8:00 pm. Masonic service to be scheduled. Funeral service will be Saturday March 5 2011 at 11:30 am at Pruzin Brothers Chapel with Rev. Larry Pote officiating. At rest Graceland Cemetery Valparaiso.

Andy was one of those special individuals that you have a chance to meet only a few times in a life. I was Andys Sergeant at ISO where he would diligently perform his job duties and he would always be there when called upon.
