Alice L. Bailey

September 27, 1928 - May 19, 2010

Alice L. Bailey nee Stoor, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at St. Anthony Medical Center. She was born in Chicago, IL and lived the majority of her life in Calumet City, IL. Alice graduated from Beals Grade School in Chicago, IL and attended Calumet High School for 2 years. She was proud to attain her GED in 1968. Alice worked as a crossing guard and as a housekeeper and front desk clerk at The Sheraton Hotel. She was married to her late husband, Cliff, for 55 years. Alice enjoyed being a housewife, mother, and “Nana”. She has a wonderful group of friends who had a “Yahtzee Club” for years. Alice is survived by her son: Larry Bailey of California; daughters: Judy Jim Magurany of Crown Point and Wendee Bailey of Crown Point; son: Corey Brenda Bailey of Texas; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother: Tage Stoor. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 4:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre NOTE: NEW LOCATION-2 blocks east of Broadway at 606 E 113th Ave. Crown Point, IN, with Pastor Brenda Ludwig officiating. Interment will be private at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Joliet, IL, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, Clifford. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre. Memorial donations may be given to The Alzheimer?s Association, 425 N. I will always remember Alice's love of cats. As a catlover too, Alice brightened up during dinner one night when a coworker brought a cat in for me to take home. i knew who needed to meet this critter i anmed Socks due to his white feet. Alice turned and looked at this kitty and reached over to touch him. She just loved him so when I could, I'd sneak that little critter into her room, she was in heaven. Now with her passing, I know who is tending to my beloved Brandon in heaven, she is and what a comfort it brings to me. I wish I ciuld have been with all of you , surgery was bad, and I sincerely hope that each one of you had found some sense of peace. To Wendee and Judy, I will have fond memories of how you loved after your mother. You truly are gifted strong women like your mother Alice. She would be proud of both of you. Melissa wlv
