Alice Hammoud, age 82, of Michigan City, IN passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Alice was born on November 22, 1941 in Michigan City to Hussein and Maulkey Wazni who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband: Kahil Hammoud; children: Nora Wazni, Maulkey (Chaker) Achy, Hassen Hammoud, Ali (Amy) Hammoud, and Ahmed Hammoud; grandchildren: Billal, Kareem, Phoenix, Aliya, and Nala; two great grandchildren: Jackson and Rowan; brother: Allie Wazni; and sister: (Hajji) Lila Hakim.
She was also preceded in death by her brother: Hassan Wazni; sisters: Faye Cherri and Shirley Praecter.
Alice was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was involved with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Islamic Center and she also taught Sunday school there for many years.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, February 4, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Islamic Center, 1606 N. 500 E. Michigan City, IN 46360. An additional visitation will take place on Monday, February 5, 2024, from 10:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 pm at the Islamic Center. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
