Doc served in the US Marine Corps from December 1945-1948. He was a member of the Carpenters Local 1005 Union for 50+ years, member of the Masonic Lodge #157 of Crown Point, IN, and member of the American Legion Post #20 of Crown Point, IN. Doc worked for over 40 years at Lake Shore Floors, now in Crown Point. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and an avid fisherman. Doc was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Wilhelmina, neé Schmiz, Touchette; three sisters: Agnes Lignoul, Albertine Holdener, and Marcella Smith; and five brothers: Charles, Ernest, Vernon, Aloysius, and Milton Touchette. Doc is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lynita; his three children: René Thomas Trulley of Hebron, IN, William FrancesTouchette of Crown Point, IN, and Brad Touchette of San Francisco, CA; his four grandchildren: Kathy Trulley, Diana Pittard, Gabrielle Touchette, and Lauren Touchette; his great-grandson, Thomas Jake Pittard; a sister, Bernadette Cheatham of Belleville, IL; two brothers: Cyril Mary Rose Touchette of Twin Falls, ID and Louis Rosella Touchette of Belleville, IL; a sister-in-law, Mary Helen Touchette of Okawville, IL; and two brothers-in-law: Bernard Holdener of Fairview Heights, IL, and Harry Lignoul of Bradenton, FL. Funeral services will be conducted by Masonic Lake Lodge #157 at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 7:00 PM. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 5 PM until the time of services at 7 PM.
