I worked with Bill at EC Roosevelt in the Physical Education department. I can still remember Bill getting his class in order by having them dress right. The boys would line up shoulder width apart . I also was the official scorekeeper for the boys basketball team. Great coach for sure! Bill will be missed

Ray Sims left a message on January 2, 2024:
It saddened me to hear about the passing of my coach. Every time I reached out to him for advice in my coaching career he always had time. I truly know he enjoyed talking basketball and giving me his opinions. I last saw him in Indianapolis when the team was inducted in the HOF. I was so excited to see him and introduce my wife to him. So long coach! You will always be remembered as one of the good ones.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
Michael Artis left a message on January 2, 2024:
I played for Coach Holzbach on the 1970 State Basketball Championship Team. Not only was he a great Coach, he was a man of great character. His Bio speaks for itself. Every time I reached out to him, he was always there. Thanks Coach Holzbach, for helping create memories in my life that I'll never forget. You and your wife have been a blessing to me and my family. There's a place for people like Coach Holzbach and it's called Heaven. So long Coach, but never goodbye. Until we meet again. Love you Coach. 🙏🏾 ❤️
