Wendell Dwight Baize, age 87, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Lois Jean Baize; children: Ann (Jeff) Julian and Scott (Dawn) Baize; grandchildren: Mallory (Roye Robley) Julian, Stephanie Nees, Jacob (Kyleigh) Baize, Abby (Brandon George) Baize and Whitney McDowell; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Robert (Sherry) Baize; and sister, Edda Friend.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents: Shelby and Ruby Baize; and sister, Janis Previs.
Wendell served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed with U.S. Steel- Sheet & Tin for 43 years. He liked to support his hometown teams and enjoyed watching Nascar. Wendell also loved to bowl, garden and spend time with his family.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Funeral Home with Deacon Brian Nosbusch officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.
