Suzanne Southworth (nee Gephart)

June 30, 1940 - February 14, 2021

Suzie is survived by her four children: Karen Sloane, Lisa (Thomas) Noble, Roberta (Rodney) Reutter and Herbert (Chiemi) Southworth Jr; her 9 grandchildren: Gabrielle, Caitlin, Gibran, Michael, Owen, Samantha, Jason, Hannah and Jacob; and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Bruce Gephart and sister Nancy Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert A. Southworth and her parents, Bruce A. and Betty Gephart.

Suzie was a loving soul with a passion for her family, her friends and her community. She loved her career in sales for over 40 years, until just last year! She was an enthusiastic member of the First Methodist Church of Crown Point, enjoying involvement with many of its ministries. Being a grandma held an extra-special place in her heart, and was a real source of pride for her. Suzie loved travel, an excellent meal, great books and a lifetime of kitty friends. She was a consummate story-teller with a wicked sense of humor who was known for her zest for life, which she passed along to each of her children, who strive to bring that spark forward.

A celebration of life TBA at a future date, due to Covid-19 restrictions, details to be shared when available, with a service planned at her church.

My memories of Susie are so full of life and positive as she was a fun and interesting soul every time I was able to visit Bobbie and Rod's home. She was always very interested in others & carried on a great conversatiion so holiday get-togethers were a joy plus she was a great cook!! Hmmmm, I'm remembering an artichoke appetizer and a famous dessert, tiramisu I do believe!! You will be missed Susie but we're thankful you're no longer suffering and that you have a new body in Heaven. Love to all the Southworths.

I called her "Mrs Nothin' " and she called me "Somethin' " from the time I was 10 years old. Mrs Nothin' was my very first softball coach, back when CP Girls Softball was played at Wells St Park. She always had a smile on her face, and you always knew she cared. She was bright light in every room she was in. Bobbie and family, I know you will miss her for the time we have left here on earth, but we know Eternity will be a blast with her there when we join her!! ❤⚾️

Knowing Suzie was a real blessing. Her light burned brightly. I will never forget her.

Sending my love to all. I had the pleasure of spending a summer evening with Suzie and her beautiful children, believe it was a graduation celebration...perhaps a birthday. What I remember most was the laughter, every corner was filled with the sounds of joy, heartfelt celebration and a wonderful time was had by all. I am ever grateful for having had this night to get to know her, and am forever thankful for her bringing my dear and beloved Karen into this world.

She was a sweetheart and will truly be missed. Always had a smile on her face and a kind word to say. Resy in Peace

I grew up close to the SouthWorth family home . I would say , Herbie [ Herb Jr] was my best friend . I was considered family . We also shared an almost similar last name ( for it’s Worth) . My favorite memory of Mrs .SouthWorth was one time I spent the night for the first time , and she explained the house was haunted . Scared me , and I don’t think I ever stopped believing in ghost s . I thought she was a great person , story teller , and she will always be remembered .. my condolences again to Herb, Lisa , Roberta , and Lori and all the family . Sincerely, Eric South
